Italy arrests 9 over alleged Hamas financing

Italian authorities have arrested nine individuals accused of financing Hamas, in a major counterterrorism operation led by anti-mafia prosecutors in Genoa.

According to investigators, the network transferred an estimated €7 million to Gaza, allegedly earmarked not for humanitarian purposes but to support Hamas’s armed and military activities.

As part of the operation, Italian authorities seized assets valued at more than €8 million, dealing a significant blow to the group’s financial infrastructure in Europe.
