Amid renewed attack in eastern Ukraine, Russia claims to have struck more than 1,000 targets in Donbas overnight. Luhansk Regional Military Administration has confirmed that Russian forces have seized Kreminna. 

Civilians in Luhansk have been urged to evacuate after Ukrainian forces "lost" control of the town of Kreminna during heavy fighting. US President Joe Biden convened a virtual meeting of allies to discuss the Ukraine conflict.

Meanwhile, Russia has sought to allay fears of President Putin using nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assured Russia would use "conventional weapons only”.
