AMIT SEGAL: What changed after Israel's Qatar attack?

It is still too early to know if a deal to end the Gaza war will be reached — and if so, whether it will actually be implemented. 

Yet there is reason for the optimism President Trump expressed: the possibility that Hamas may release the hostages, give up its weapons, and leave power. 

The shift did not occur in Gaza but in Doha, where Qatar is now pressuring Hamas to accept the deal.

What changed? Israel brought the war to Qatar’s doorstep. After IDF operations in Gaza, Beirut, Damascus, Sanaa, and Tehran, Doha too became a target.
