Two political prisoners face execution after sheltering and treating demonstrators wounded during Iran’s January uprising.
IRAN INTERNATIONAL -- A Revolutionary Court in Shiraz has sentenced Mojtaba Dehbandi and Kianoush Hamzehei Kazerooni to death after they allegedly helped wounded anti-regime protesters.
The men reportedly brought several injured demonstrators into their shops and provided them with treatment. Security forces later identified them through surveillance footage and arrested them eight days afterward.
The regime accused the two men of acting against national security and “waging war against God,” citing allegations of arson and burning a Quran. Both are being held in Shiraz’s Adelabad Prison.
