A 30-year-old woman was killed and three injured in a car crash near Haifa on Sunday morning, while another 12 were injured in separate road accidents in the Negev.
The woman was killed at the Yokneam Junction near Haifa in a three-car collision.
“When we arrived at the scene, we saw a very serious traffic accident,” MDA pandemic Doron Baker said. “Two vehicles standing on the traffic island were crushed severely in their front part. A 30-year-old woman was trapped in one of the vehicles, we performed medical tests during the rescue operations, but her injury was critical and after resuscitation attempts, we had to determine her death,” Baker said.
Three other people injured in that accident were evacuated to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.
Another 12 people were injured in three separate accidents, all on Highway 31 in the Negev.
Two trucks and three cars were involved in the first accident at the Nevatim Junction near Beer Sheva. Seven people suffered light-moderate injuries. They were taken to the Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva.
Shortly afterwards, four vehicles collided near the Bedouin town of Kuseife. Magen David Adom emergency responders said two women and two men were injured.
