Far-left Americans are comfortable with political violence as an option to redress their grievances
The arrest of a young man in Alabama this week for plotting to kill former President Joe Biden over Gaza underscores the findings of studies that show that young, far-left Americans are comfortable with political violence as an option to redress their grievances.
Adam Benjamin Hall, 23, was living with his parents at the time of his arrest. He had boasted to his friends about a year later that he attempted to enter a debate held on June 27, 2024, between Biden and President Donald Trump with a revolver but failed to gain entrance. When his parents got wind of the plot, they confiscated his firearm.
In October 2025, Hall told fellow students about his planned exploit and expressed confidence in his success because he was a “pretty decent shot and Joe Biden was or is like one foot and four toes in the grave already.”
