"Russian air defense is unable to deal with Western-made cruise missiles"

Russia's air defense cannot deal with attacks by the Ukrainians using Western-made cruise missiles, so Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Akhenat said live on a TV show.

"We received a weapon that we waited a long time for and they are cruise missiles."

"The enemy cannot shoot down these missiles despite the presence of dense air defense systems there. But, as we see, our missiles penetrate their defenses in the Crimea, armed with air defense systems, which cannot confront cruise missiles made by the West."

According to him, this is the reason why Ukraine expects more such missiles from the West - mainly Germans, French and British. "The American ATACMS systems are already ballistic missiles - they will help us dramatically change the situation on the front," said Akhenat, "with the arrival of Western-made fighter jets, the story will be completely different."

Separately, a spokesman for the Russian Air Force said Russia would continue to fire naval-caliber cruise missiles at Ukraine.

The Caliber missile can fly very far, more than 2,000 kilometers, so moving Russian warships away from Crimea does not change the situation for Ukraine.

"There is news that Germany will also supply naval weapons, and that other weapons will also arrive. The best of all are our Neptune rockets, which work very efficiently. The appearance of F-16 aircraft with Harpoon missiles will contribute to the elimination of Russian ships in the Black Sea," said the spokesman of the Ukrainian Air Force.

In response to a question about F-16 aircraft, he noted that the variety of countries participating in the aviation alliance is increasing, and therefore the capacity and opportunities for pilot training in Ukraine are increasing.

"A large group of military engineers is also training at the same time as our pilots in the countries that have joined the aviation alliance. This is very difficult work, and it must progress at an accelerated pace because there is no other way out. The faster these fighter planes are delivered, the faster the situation on the front will change."

According to the official, Ukrainian pilots practice on them non-stop.

The spokesman said: "The US has also joined, and this is a very serious step because the US is the country that produces the F-16s and the best basic training is there. "If they really take on the task of training our crews, it There will be a really serious step on the way to using the F-16."

As reported, Akhenat said that the Russians are increasing the production of disposable drones.
