The US is threatening Israel with an arms embargo on it, if within a month it does not solve the problem of humanitarian aid to the northern Gaza Strip, as it promised the administration a few months ago.
YONI BEN-MENACHEM: State Department spokesman Matthew Miller confirmed yesterday that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken sent a particularly sharp letter to the Israeli political echelon this week, in which they warn Israel that failure to comply with its commitment could lead to a crisis in relations with the administration and an arms embargo. The letter was sent to Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.
Political sources say that immediately after receiving the letter, the coordinator of operations in the territories, Major General Rasan Aliyan, brought dozens of trucks with humanitarian aid to the north of the Gaza Strip according to the directive of the political echelon.
Senior political figures estimate that the administration is very afraid of the IDF's activity in the last two weeks in the northern Gaza Strip, in preparation for the implementation of parts of the "champions plan" of the Major General Giora Island to fight terrorism.
