WATCH: IDF deployed aircraft to combat wildfires across Israel

IDF Spokesperson confirmed that over 25 fire-retardant payloads were dropped from two “Shimshon” aircraft to support efforts in extinguishing the spreading wildfires

An additional aircraft is expected to carry out further drops to reinforce the operation.

Shas Chairman MK Aryeh Deri issued a powerful statement condemning those who ignite fires during wartime, declaring them to be terrorists in every sense.

“I call on the Prime Minister to instruct the IDF to eliminate from the air every terrorist identified as a fire-starter,” he stated.

Although I agree that anyone starting fires should be eliminated I don’t think it would be wise to do it from the air. Any munitions used to kill the individual would also start a fire.

I completely agree. Every arsonist spotted from the air must be illuminated as they will return and start more fires if not taken down. People will die and millions of acres and homes will be lost.
