Former informant gets life sentence for killing elderly holocaust survivor
The Tel Aviv District Court also ordered Shalhoub to pay NIS 258,000 ($81,000) to Lipovsky’s family
An Israeli court on Sunday sentenced former Palestinian informant Ibrahim Shalhoub to life imprisonment for the 2024 murder of an 83-year-old Holocaust survivor.
According to the indictment, Shalhoub repeatedly stabbed Ludmila Lipovsky outside her assisted-living facility in Herzliya as she waited for her daughter to pick her up for a medical appointment.
Prosecutors said Shalhoub stabbed Lipovsky approximately 11 times in the upper body while shouting “Allah is great” and reciting prayers in Arabic.
