United States Central Command announced that its forces carried out 10 strikes against more than 30 ISIS targets across Syria between February 3 and 12. The attacks reportedly hit weapons depots and key infrastructure using precision munitions launched from aircraft and drones.
Earlier strikes between January 27 and February 2 focused on ISIS communications and logistics sites. The operations are part of “Operation Hawkeye Strike,” launched following the December 13 ambush near Palmyra that killed two US service members and an American interpreter.
According to CENTCOM, over the past two months more than 50 ISIS operatives have been killed or captured, and more than 100 targets have been struck. The campaign is aimed at degrading the terror group’s ability to regroup and conduct attacks in Syria and the wider region.
