The facility has been used by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad to store and transfer tens of millions of dollars in funding for their terror organizations.

The currency exchange office changed its name in 2022 from “Dubai” to “Al-Cairo” after it was declared by the Israeli Defense Minister to be aiding terrorist organizations due to its involvement in transferring funds to such groups.

According to the IDF and ISA (Shin Bet), throughout the war, workers at the office have continued to aid and fund Hamas activities, transferring millions of dollars to Hamas’ military wing for military purposes.

The funds transfer to Hamas facilitated by the currency exchange office assisted and allowed the continuation of terrorist activity in Gaza.
