Turkey has issued a stern warning against anyone harming the base. Even so, The IDF attacked it last night in a statement it will not allow Turkey to approach its borders.
Tonight, at around 3:00 AM, Air Force fighter jets attacked targets at the Syrian airports of Palmyra (Tadmur) and T4 east of the city of Homs.
Pay attention to the statements coming out of both Syria and Turkey:
The Syrian interim government has allocated a sovereign military base in Palmyra to the Turkish army. The base will be the size of the American Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
The Turkish government informed all major powers, including the UN, of the move and emphasized that any attack on the base would lead to a response of overwhelming force.
