“Things are going to happen that you haven’t seen before.”
Wounded IDF soldiers who recently created the “Forum of War Wounded for Decisive Victory” met on Monday met with Prime Benjamin Minister Netanyahu at his office in Jerusalem.
The soldiers are calling “to stop the foot-dragging and to reach a clear and decisive victory in the war.”
During the meeting, the prime minister listened to the stories of the soldiers’ heroism and self-sacrifice and expressed his appreciation.
“There won’t be an Islamic caliphate in Gaza, neither of Hamas nor of the Palestinian Authority,” the prime minister emphasized, according to Israel Hayom.
“Things have changed, a decision has been made to go all the way,” he added. “We are very close.”
“We will conquer Gaza, and our security control will remain there forever,” he continued. “Within days, things are going to happen in Gaza. Things are going to happen that you haven’t seen before,” he stressed.
Ahead of the meeting, members of the forum spoke to reporters, calling for decisive Israeli victory in the war so that the deaths of their fallen comrades should not be in vain.
Yotam Asban, a soldier who was wounded in Gaza, noted that last week, he attended six memorial services for fallen comrades.
“I promised my friends, who fell in the same incident, that their blood would not be shed in vain. Let the State of Israel, for once, resolve this matter as it should, without folding, without kowtowing to a group of a few Hamasniks,” Asban said.
Tomer Bruk, a commander in the reserves who was wounded in combat, said, “Part of the idea we’re talking about is to reduce the issue of raids. No more raids. We are supposed to take the matter forward. There is a very established method in attack and warfare – conquering land, and it’s not shameful to say so. Seizing territory, clearing out the area, destroying Hamas’ ability and, after that, if we need civilian control, that too.”
Yishai Rahamim Levi, a soldier from the Golani brigade who was wounded at Zikim Beach, said, “We’re here at the entrance to the Prime Minister’s Office with a clear call – that the same heroism that carried us in battle, the same heroism that sustains us through the journey of rehabilitation, should not waver in the eyes of the decision-makers and should lead the Nation of Israel to a clear victory over Hamas.”
