Mohammad Mohsen Sadr, Iran’s deputy minister of communications and information technology, estimated in a speech today the damage caused by the explosion at the Bandar Abbas port last Saturday. He said the damage ranged from $3 billion to $5 billion.
Opening a conference on developing the digital economy, Sadr wondered: “Why were 130,000 containers found at Shahid Rajaee port but there is no accurate information about the contents of any of them?”
He added: “Based on a rough calculation, the damage caused by the recent explosion at this port is estimated at $3 billion to $5 billion, while if we had used modern technologies and accurate data, we could have easily prevented such problems.”
