There are unverified reports on the Arab network that the Iranian company "Mahan Air" carried out 11 cargo flights from Tehran to Beirut in the second half of December 2024, with some of the planes carrying weapons intended for Hezbollah.
The planes, after their direct passage to Beirut via Syria was blocked, changed their route and arrived in Lebanon via Turkish airspace, after full coordination (according to the sources) with the relevant Turkish authorities.
ERAN MALKA ADDS:
Since the coup in Syria, we have indeed witnessed in real time the return of Iranian cargo and passenger planes to Tehran after their access to Syrian airspace was blocked.
If this is indeed true, this is a calculated Iranian move betting that Israel will certainly not attack Turkish territory and, in light of the ceasefire in Lebanon, will not even attack the airport in Beirut at this time.
