For the first time: Lebanese aircraft carried out a reconnaissance flight in the southern skies amid demands for Hezbollah to hand over its weapons
On Wednesday, southern Lebanon witnessed the first intensive flight of a Lebanese army Cessna reconnaissance aircraft, in parallel with the growing diplomatic pressure to disarm Hezbollah.
The aircraft flew over the towns of East Zotar, West Zotar, Yahmar al-Shaqif, Qayyit al-Jisr, Jabshit, al-Dwar, Mayfdon and Harof, where the flight continued in a circular motion for more than an hour.
This development comes after a large Lebanese army force entered the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif in the Nabatiya district on Tuesday evening. This occurred following a rocket attack from the area towards Israeli territory and the killing of Hezbollah personnel.
