A police checkpoint was breached by a racing vehicle, raising suspicion that the driver was involved in the report of the absence of a 46-year-old woman. The detention of the three murder suspects was extended by nine days.
Three brothers aged 20, 23 and 28 from the Ara-Israeli village of Zarzir were arrested today (Sunday) on suspicion of murdering their mother, a 46-year-old Nof Hagalil resident, and hiding her body in the mountainous Jordan area. The mother was initially reported missing, but later the suspicion grew that she had been murdered, until her body was found disguised.
The affair began last Friday morning, when a private vehicle broke into a police checkpoint in the Jordan area and raised suspicion that its occupants were involved in a criminal incident. Upon receiving the report of the incident, police forces began searches to locate the vehicle as well as to locate the identities of its occupants.
As the investigation progressed, the police linked the incident of breaking the checkpoint to a report of the absence of a 46-year-old woman who moved from Beit Zarzir to the Galilee landscape, and the name of one of the missing woman's sons came up as a suspect in her absence and breach of the checkpoint.
