Reports: Syrian regime is searching for Eli Cohen’s remains
Arab media are reporting that the Al-Juliani regime is currently conducting searches to locate the body of Israeli spy Eli Cohen, who was executed in Syria in 1965.
Eli Cohen, one of Israel’s most legendary spies, infiltrated the highest levels of Syria’s political and military leadership in the 1960s. His intelligence work is widely credited with providing Israel crucial strategic advantages ahead of the Six-Day War.
He was captured in 1965, publicly tried, and hanged in Damascus, where his remains have never been returned to Israel.
