IDF reconnaissance soldiers from the Givati Brigade engaged in close-quarters combat on Monday with a Hezbollah terrorist cell in Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon. Among the terrorists was an operative from Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force.
During the clash, the troops advanced, made contact, and opened precise fire at the terrorists. At the end of the engagement, three Hezbollah terrorists dropped their weapons and surrendered to the Israeli forces.
The terrorists were transferred for further interrogation by Unit 504. IDF forces continue operating in the area to eliminate threats and ensure the security of Israeli civilians.
NEWSRAEL: WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
The surrender of Hezbollah terrorists—especially a member of the Radwan force, which is tasked with infiltrating Israel—offers valuable intelligence that could expose future attack plans and operational networks. It also reflects increasing pressure on Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon, as IDF ground forces maintain aggressive operations to neutralize threats near Israel’s northern border.
