British Army intelligence this morning updated in its daily intelligence assessment that Russia has planted mines in the Black Sea, which pose a serious danger to naval activity.
The report states that the origins of these mines are unknown, but their very existence is almost certain, due to the extensive activity of the Russian navy in the region. The report further stated that Russia still reserves the possibility of carrying out an amphibious combat operation.
As you may recall, US intelligence sources estimate that Russia is investing its efforts in the war in Ukraine, focusing on control of the Donbas region and other areas in eastern Ukraine, with the target it has set for itself being the beginning of May.
According to US intelligence, Putin plans to declare 'Russia Victory Day' on May 9. It is a prominent holiday in the Russian calendar, a day when the country marks the Nazi surrender in World War II, in a huge parade of soldiers and weapons, across the Red Square near the Kremlin. Officials even indicated that the president would like to celebrate some victory that day.
