Israel’s leadership is preparing for further regional escalation as Iran expands its attacks on US forces and Gulf states.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene a security assessment this evening following the latest developments in the confrontation with Iran. The meeting comes after another night of US strikes on Iranian military capabilities and new Iranian attacks across the region.
Air-defense systems were activated in Kuwait and Bahrain against Iranian drones, while Iran claimed it had struck US equipment at Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base. Tehran also warned that it would retaliate against any American attempt to enter Iranian territory.
CENTCOM said it had launched a ninth consecutive night of strikes, targeting capabilities used by Iran to threaten commercial ships and civilian sailors in the Strait of Hormuz. Explosions were reported in several Iranian cities, including Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak and major ports in Khuzestan.
