On the morning of October 7, thousands of armed terrorists attacked the south of Israel and washed it in blood while committing atrocities that no human being can imagine. Without a doubt, it was the most brutal murder campaign against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
In the shadow of the battles and mourning, one bright spot is the social engagement and support that emerges in these difficult days and unites the Jewish people above all differences; to aid and rescue efforts for the affected population.
Dozens of organizations in Israel work day and night to support and assist the victims, their families, and residents of the south who fled their homes and became refugees overnight. The social sector in Israel was the first to respond and thousands of volunteers came to help while the fighting was still going on. From the day of the attack until today, these organizations are trying to address the many needs arising from the area.
In order to allow these organizations to function, several fundraisers were established for them. One of the most prominent of them is the initiative of the Round Up association with Channel 12 and the Headstart group. This initiative mapped about 70 different organizations that provide a wide spectrum of support in the face of a national tragedy.
The mapping was coordinated by a public committee chaired by a former Supreme Court judge and its purpose is to locate leading organizations operating in the field and channel funds to them to ensure their continued operation.
The organizations chosen by the committee help in a variety of areas: assistance with food and clothing, medical assistance, psychological assistance, assistance with equipment and support for soldiers, and more. The needs on the ground are many, it is not just about direct support for the victims and their families.
This includes rehabilitation institutions for the disabled, boarding schools for children at risk, support for the elderly and Holocaust survivors, and dozens of other critical services.
We call on friends of the Jewish people all over the world to help donate and support the important work carried out by these organizations. You can support through this donation page:
