WATCH: IDF prepares for Independence Day torch lighting ceremony
As every year, flag bearers from all branches and commands in the IDF will take part in the torch-lighting ceremony.
After about two months of planning, training, and preparations, about 140 flag bearers will take to the ceremony grounds.
The flag bearers represent the Israeli mosaic in all its parts and shades, as a symbol of the unity of the people. The Seder exercises are an expression of the values of unity and national hope that create “bridges of hope.”
Even as Israel celebrates its independence, the IDF remembers the fallen soldiers of Israel's armed forces and the 59 hostages who are still in captivity.
