His speech was cut off, when Majles members chanted: "Death to Israel!" Later in his speech, he was cut off by members chanting: "Death to America!"
President Pezeshkian discussed Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech to the joint session of Congress, and he was cut off by the Majles members who chanted again: "Death to Israel!" Foreign dignitaries attending the inauguration applauded, while the members were chanting "Death to Israel!"
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran just hours later, can be seen applauding to the Majles members chants of "Death to Israel!"
