He said that throughout his life, Mahdi had hoped for this moment, that he “really wanted it,” and “he got what he wanted.” 

Ammar said that martyrdom is the “pinnacle” of his desires and stated that he believes he has lived long enough and that there is something lacking in his faith, which is why Allah has not yet selected him to become a martyr. He asked Allah to select him for martyrdom.
