DAILY STAR - April 24, 2022: A priest has been stabbed up to 20 times and a nun has been injured following a horror attack at a French church.

The incident took place earlier this morning (April 24) at Saint Pierre d'Arene Church in Nice, France, when a young man, described as suffering with mental health problems, entered the holy building, approached the priest and knifed him several times.

According to conservative lawmaker Eric Ciotti, who represents the region, a 72-year-old nun courageously intervened and tried to stop the attack, getting herself injured in the process, suffering wounds to her hands.

He said: "Extraordinary courage from Sister Marie-Claude who intervened as the attacker continued to stab Father Christophe."
