The IDF released the following statement regarding operations in Beit Hanoun, a major Hamas stronghold and source of many lethal ambushes during the war:

"Since the start of the war, the IDF, led by the Southern Command, has been working to dismantle underground infrastructure belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.

"Over the past four weeks, the Southern Command’s Engineering Corps troops led a large-scale operation to seal a central underground tunnel route approximately 7 kilometers long, in the Beit Hanoun area of the northern Gaza Strip.
