Retired Lebanese General Yaarob Sakhr urged Lebanon to abandon its fight against Israel, admitting the Arab-Israeli conflict is over and calling on his country to join the region’s wave of development instead of clinging to a lost cause.
Lebanese General (Ret.) Yaarob Sakhr said in a November 6, 2025 interview on Al-Badeel on YouTube that Lebanon should board the “great train of development” sweeping through the Middle East, asking how it can remain on the battlefield by itself. He said that the Arab-Israeli conflict is over and that Israel has the upper hand because of American support. Sakhr added that Lebanon should not continue to fight when the Arab states have abandoned that option.
