A senior official from the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) said in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12 that Kurdish forces could soon begin action against the Iranian regime.
“This is a historic moment—we will start moving against Iran as soon as possible,” the official said, suggesting that Kurdish factions see the current US-Israel confrontation with Tehran as a strategic opportunity.
Several Iranian Kurdish opposition groups are based in northern Iraq and have long opposed the Iranian regime. Reports indicate that some of these factions are preparing for possible cross-border operations if conditions allow and if they receive support. However, the Kurdish camp is not unified: while certain groups signal readiness to act, others deny that any immediate offensive plans exist.
Iran appears to be taking the threat seriously. Iranian forces have reportedly carried out pre-emptive strikes on Kurdish positions in northern Iraq in recent days, likely aimed at preventing any organized uprising or infiltration across the border. For now, there is no confirmation of a large-scale Kurdish incursion into Iran, and the situation remains fluid as the regional conflict evolves.
