A Kurdish woman speaking during a protest outside the US Consulate in Erbil said the Kurdish people are being massacred and abandoned by the Arab world, as ISIS carries out killings of Kurdish civilians.
In a January 20, 2026 interview aired by a Kurdish television channel, filmed against the backdrop of clashes between Syrian regime forces and Kurdish fighters in northern Syria, the woman said that “the entire Arab nation has betrayed the Kurds.” She warned that Kurdish families are paying the price, saying that wives and daughters are being killed by ISIS while the world remains silent.
Calling the day a moment of national reckoning, she urged Kurds not to betray what she described as “the day of massacre,” declaring that there is no one coming to help them. She ended her remarks with calls of “Long live the Kurds” and “Long live Kurdistan,” emphasizing that her people are being left to face annihilation alone.
