WATCH: Coalition forces target ISIS leader in northern Syria
The U.S.-led international coalition carried out a complex pre-dawn operation in the town of Atmeh, northern Idlib, targeting the home of ISIS leader Abu Hafs al-Hashimi al-Qurashi.

The raid, lasting about 90 minutes, involved five helicopters and a large deployment of special forces, according to local sources.
Al-Qurashi, known as the group’s fifth “caliph” since August 2023, was reportedly living under a false identity alongside several European women, including a French national.
Conflicting reports have emerged regarding his fate. Some sources claim he was killed during the raid and that his body was removed from the site, while others suggest he may have been captured alive.
