Colombian President Gustavo Petro is now accusing Israel of being the only country capable of manipulating Colombia’s electoral software, as political tensions rise following the reported victory of Abelardo “The Tiger” de la Espriella.

In a post translated from Spanish, Petro claimed that software connected to the national registry was vulnerable and alleged that changes in IP addresses on several servers proved that the system had been compromised. He then made the extraordinary claim that “the only entity in the world capable of doing that is the state of Israel.”

Petro demanded a full review of polling stations, a new count of votes and an expert audit of the electoral software. He also called on the public to remain calm and said Colombia must seek dialogue rather than let hatred divide the country.
