A new survey by the Jerusalem Center for Foreign Affairs and Security (JCFA) points to a clear message from the Israeli public to decision-makers: an overwhelming majority of Israelis oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state – even if that means missing out on a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Dan Diker, president of JCFA, explained that "the Israeli public sends a clear message – Israel's security comes before any political move, even if the price is diplomatic."
According to the data, 64% of Israelis oppose a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, and only 8% support it unconditionally.
Even when asked if they would agree to the establishment of a Palestinian state as part of a normalization deal with Saudi Arabia – 59% continue to oppose it and only 7% support it unconditionally.
