Shiite militia leaders in Iraq leave for Iran and Russia for fear of Israeli assassinations, as was done to senior Hezbollah officials
It seems that the leaders of the Iraqi armed factions have taken seriously the seriousness of the Israeli threats to attack them, because of their attacks on Israel in support of Gaza and Lebanon. Therefore, they decided to leave Iraq with their families and money. Political sources indicated that a number of militia commanders loyal to Tehran left Iraq for fear of Israeli actions against them.
The same sources revealed that the process of transferring the commanders of the armed militias took place “through the mediation of Iraqi politicians who also helped move their families and money out of the country”.
