This morning (Thursday), 18 Israelis, including infants and children, set off on a yacht from Cyprus toward the Israeli coast, but became stranded near Lebanon. Navy soldiers were dispatched to the scene, rescued them, and returned with them to Haifa.
According to an IDF statement, a report was received earlier about a malfunctioning civilian vessel that had drifted into international waters west of Lebanon, carrying Israeli citizens. Upon receiving the report, forces were dispatched to the area. After locating and establishing contact with the vessel, Israeli Navy forces carried out a rescue operation and returned the civilians to the Port of Haifa.
The Navy dispatched a vessel to the area, which operated under the RCC’s instructions and safely transferred the Israeli passengers to the Port of Haifa, while preparations were made to tow the vessel itself back to Cyprus.
