Oded Eilam, former head of the terror division at Mossad and a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, says that Mossad's public call to Iranian citizens to provide information about Basij forces and the Revolutionary Guards is part of a broader strategy to turn public anger into operational intelligence.
According to him, the regime’s collapse will not look like a rapid takeover of Tehran, but rather a long process of internal erosion.
Eilam estimates that the combination of economic collapse, military pressure, and loss of legitimacy among the majority of the Iranian public could eventually lead to a popular uprising or cracks within the system itself.
