“People always ask me if I'm scared, but when I get a rush of adrenaline, I overcome my fear and do whatever I can to help.”

It was only natural that Sgt. Rita would draft to the Israeli Air Force as a firefighter. At the age of 14, she volunteered as an instructor in the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority. When she was 16, she and her team detected a large fire spreading toward gas tanks and generators.

Without thinking twice, Sgt. Rita grabbed a fire hose and managed to control the fire on her own, saving the lives of the firefighters and Israeli civilians nearby.
