A declassified phone call released during Israeli evacuation warnings in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district captures a local resident openly blaming Hezbollah for forcing civilians out of their homes.
During the call, the resident can be heard telling the Israeli officer: “Get rid of Hezbollah already—I’m with you, they forced us out of our homes.” The conversation took place as the IDF issued evacuation notices to residents in areas where strikes were being carried out against Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure.
According to the IDF, the warnings were delivered in advance of operations targeting Hezbollah facilities embedded within civilian neighborhoods in southern Beirut. The recorded conversation highlights the pressure many Lebanese civilians say they face from Hezbollah while living in areas where the organization operates.
The Dahiyeh district, a stronghold of Hezbollah in Beirut, has frequently been used by the group for command centers, weapons storage, and other military infrastructure, often located inside densely populated civilian areas.
