During the ceasefire, Iran reportedly imported thousands of FPV drones from China, with plans to convert them into suicide drones.
The intended use is to strike nearby forces in the Gulf and ground troops if they enter Iranian territory. The import was reportedly carried out by freight trains moving along the “Silk Road” route between Pakistan and China.
NEWSRAEL: WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
This report points to Iran’s ongoing effort to rebuild and adapt its military capabilities even during a ceasefire. FPV suicide drones are cheap, difficult to detect, and dangerous against soldiers, vehicles, and forward positions — making them a serious threat in any future confrontation in the Gulf or inside Iran. This also puts into question the promises made by China to President trump that they would not arm the Iranians.
