A BBC correspondent reports that Twitter accounts considered close to the Iranian government claim that Hussein Taib, the head of the Revolutionary Guards intelligence and who was recently identified as the person behind the attempts to harm Israelis in Turkey, has been fired (and some have reported assassination attempts).

Please note that at this time these are only reports on Twitter accounts linked to the Revolutionary Guards - there is no official confirmation in the Iranian media
