Israel is considering expanding its military action in Lebanon after the IDF limited its activity until now to airstrikes.
During their recent meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump discussed the possibility of expanding Israeli strikes in Lebanon.
According to two sources familiar with the matter, and within the limits of military censorship, Israel is weighing a broader operation in Lebanon aimed at eliminating the threat posed by Hezbollah. So far, the Israel Defense Forces have confined their actions to aerial operations.
Israeli officials say that under the cover of the ceasefire, Hezbollah has managed to partially rebuild its capabilities. They add that the Lebanese government has proven powerless in dealing with the Shiite terror organization.
