WATCH: Dershowitz to Newsmax: Netanyahu shouldn't be on trial

Former Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax on Monday it's not right that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing charges.

"This is a case that should never have been brought," he said on "The Record With Greta Van Susteren."

He called the charges against Netanyahu baseless and politically distorted.

Dershowitz said he has advised Netanyahu for years and has been both a friend and an attorney to him.

Netanyahu is the man who saved Israel from its existential threats of brutal enemies. Israel should be proud of this real hero who stood against the enemies of the US and those of Israel .
