Not only the IDF: The rebels took over strongholds and strongholds of Hezbollah and pro-Iranian militias.

These are areas where Hezbollah has provided full backup to the Syrian army in recent years.

Also: The Syrian 4th division, commanded by president Assad's younger brother, Maher, is sending tanks and reinforcements to Aleppo to try and hit back at the rebels.
