The IDF destroyed the home of former PLO chairman Yasser Arafat in the center of Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip, which had been used as a museum since his death.

Arafat lived there between 1995 and 2001 and served as one of the last and most prominent symbols of the Palestinian Authority's hold on the Gaza Strip.
