This week, IDF paratroopers raided a former Syrian army post, uncovering tanks, APCs, artillery, and dozens of rockets and mortars.  The weapons were destroyed or seized.

The IDF has been operating from nine positions inside southern Syria since the Assad regime’s fall in December, mostly within a UN-monitored buffer zone.

Troops have advanced up to 15 km into Syria to prevent weapons from reaching hostile groups. Israel aims to fully demilitarize southern Syria and block any armed presence, including from the new Syrian government.
