After Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race and Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee, a wave of seemingly spontaneous online enthusiasm swept across social media.ย
Young influencers flooded TikTok and Instagram with glowing endorsements, painting Harris as a hip, progressive icon. But it was all staged. According to *RealClearInvestigations*, this surge was manufactured by far-left billionaires using astroturf campaigns to rebrand Harris and push a fictional narrative.
A key player was Way to Win, a Democrat donor network that poured over $9 million into a coordinated influencer strategy. More than 550 influencers were coached on pro-Harris talking points, receiving AI-generated content strategies to sound organic while staying on message. The result? Over 6,600 pro-Harris posts across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms—many using trendy music and memes to boost her appeal among Gen Z.
Some of the content was bizarre. One viral TikTok showed a creator kissing a woman and pretending to search for porn, warning that such freedoms would vanish if Harris lost. Others promoted Harris using gay culture quizzes or by touring U.S. cities with an inflatable IUD, warning Trump would ban contraception. The campaign leaned heavily on sexual fearmongering and identity politics, portraying Harris as a savior of personal freedoms.
