We will continue blocking Israeli Ships and imposing an aerial siege (Shooting missiles and drones at Israel)
Houthi spokesman Nasruddin Amer discussed President Trump's recent announcement of a ceasefire with the Houthis in a May 7, 2025 interview on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar).
He asserted that the Houthis did not surrender to the Americans, rather, it was Trump, whom he referred to as a "criminal" and a "liar," who had approached the Houthis and suggested that the Americans stop protecting Israeli ships in the Red Sea. Amer clarified that if the Americans resume protecting Israeli ships, the Houthis would resume their attacks against U.S. forces.
He claimed that the Americans abandoned the Israelis and ran away, whereas the Houthis will not abandon the Palestinians. He added that they will continue to block Israeli ships from passing through the Red Sea and will ensure that their "aerial siege" of Israel becomes even more effective.
