A claim circulating online alleges that Israel killed 380,000 children under the age of five in Gaza. It has gone viral and has been repeated by public figures as established fact.
Official data makes this claim impossible.
According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, there were approximately 341,790 children under five living in Gaza before the war. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs places the number even lower, around 320,000.
You cannot kill more children than exist. For this claim to be true, every single child under five in Gaza would have to be dead.
This is not a misunderstanding or a statistical error. It is disinformation rooted in a long-standing antisemitic narrative, repackaged as humanitarian concern and spread on a massive scale.
