Media in Turkey revealed more details about the arrest of the Iranian citizens in Istanbul which was published yesterday (Friday). According to the report, the Iranian assassination squad followed three Israeli tourists and planned to assassinate them in the hotel room in Taksim Square where they were staying, in exchange for a payment of 35 thousand dollars from the Iranian authorities.

Four of the Iranian agents were captured on the evening of June 17 by the Turkish security forces. At the same time, Iran claims that a spy network that was in contact with the Mossad was arrested.

This is another operation that comes as part of the investigation that began last month with the arrest of the Iranian cell. Last month, the country's media reported that Turkish security and intelligence forces foiled a plan to kidnap a former Israeli ambassador and his wife and harm other Israelis. In the raid, ten Iranians and Turks were arrested with weapons in their possession. Iranian intelligence officers came under the guise of businessmen, tourists and students with the aim of murdering Israeli tourists.
